Lincs Lightning would like to involve all members of the community in this project, in particular from the grassroots level, especially young people wanting to get involved in engineering. So please drop us a line if you would like to get involved in this project. We are also interested to hear from local businesses, that could help us in any way they can.
Almost 30 years ago, in December 1987, XS416 landed at RAF Binbrook for the last time. Since then, she has been transported from one farm to another around rural Lincolnshire, in search of a permanent home. Lincs Lightning is pleased to announce that we are launching a restoration project that will finally provide her with a permanent home, XS416 is to be housed inside a modern and inspirational glass and steel building at a active airfield in Lincolnshire. She will then be stripped down and rebuilt over a three year period so she can fast taxi again at the airport. With her being a T5 two seat Lightning, she will be able to carry a passenger, who will get to experience a mind blowing acceleration of 0-160kts in under a few seconds.
